Who can join?

For those thinking of applying to become a Freemason and join our Lodge you should be a man of at least 18 years of age irrespective of race or religion, who believes that there is a supreme being or God (it doesn't matter which, and it could be a belief that there is one but you are unsure of their nature), live in the UK and can commit to regular involvement as a member of the Lodge for at least a 3-year period (although the vast majority of our Members remain a Member for life and regularly attend our Meetings and events).

It is important to identify whether the Lodge's meeting days/times are convenient so you can commit to a regular attendance without damaging your family or work commitments. Above all, no one should undertake membership which may adversely affect his family, employment or other non-Masonic commitments.

Fees, Costs & Time Commitments

As with any membership, there are some associated costs as well as minimum time commitments and it's important to ensure you are able to bear both.

Costs
To become a Freemason and a member of a London Lodge there is an annual subscription, together with fees covering the Initiation ceremony and Registration. For membership of a London-based Lodge in general (including our Lodge), the minimum cost of being a Freemason covering annual subscription, dining, and attendance of Masonic meetings within the London area, is a minimum of £550.00/year. This is consistent with membership of a London-based gym or sports club.

Time Commitment

The Lodge meets four times per year in the schedule laid out in the Meetings & Events page.

Each meeting starts at approximately 4:30pm and the meetings are followed by the Festive Board, which usually finishes at around 9:30pm.

Our LOI meetings run each Sunday morning between late July/early August and mid-April (8 months on/4 months off). They usually start at 10:15am and finish at 12:15pm. Final rehearsals for Lodge meetings start at 10:00am and finish by 12:30pm. We also convene a Lodge Committee meeting for general purposes three or four times a year instead of an LOI meeting. All members are encouraged to attend.
